Incumbent second as election looms Tuesday
Top Headlines In campaign finance reports due Monday, Williamson reported spending $773 on his campaign so far - mostly for signs, advertisements and postage. Selectwoman Marjorie Kraskouskas came in a close second, reporting she has spent $657 of her $1,825 campaign coffers on advertisements and postcards. She also received an in-kind contribution worth $150 for a 4-foot campaign sign. Challenger Michael Thompson reported spending $275, mostly of his own money, on signs. Selectman William Moffitt has collected $1,096, including a loan to his campaign from his own pocket, but has only spent $50 so far. He also received an in-kind contribution of $225 for a large campaign sign. Campaign finance reports, detailing how much candidates raise and spend, are due periodically throughout the year, including eight days before the town election. All candidates are required to file the reports even if no money is raised or spent. In the school committee race, challenger Charles Beale reported spending the most money, paying $366 out of his own pocket for campaign signs. Incumbent Christopher Frost has not spent any money. He has a balance of $25 in his campaign coffer from three years ago. Incumbent James McKenna did not file a report by Monday's deadline. In the board of health race, challenger Jay Maslen reported spending $545, mostly from money he loaned his own campaign, on signs. He also received $225 in in-kind contributions for a large campaign sign. Incumbent Susan Shaw did not file a report on time. In the board of public works race, challenger Donald Corliss reported spending $342 of his own money on signs, while incumbent Robert Norton said he has not raised or spent any money during the campaign.
