A North Attleboro couple face kidnapping charges in Rhode Island for allegedly taking a 17-year-old Woonsocket boy they knew at knifepoint because he burned holes in a car seat.
Dale E. O'Connell, 44, and Diane R. Dufault, 48, both of 536 High St., in North Attleboro, were arraigned in Providence District Court earlier this week on kidnapping, assault by means of a dangerous weapon and robbery, according to published reports.
The couple also was charged with possession of crack cocaine.
The boy said the couple forced him in their car on Cottage Street Sunday afternoon.
Police were told the couple accused the boy of burning two holes in a car seat after borrowing the vehicle, and wanted him to pay for repairs.
