AHS girls open fast
NEW BEDFORD - Alex Neville and Meghan Cutler shared first place in the high jump, while also winning the 400 and 800 meter runs respectively, as the Attleboro High girls' spring track team began its season with a 90-45 victory at New Bedford Wednesday.
Meghan Hathaway won the 200 meter run with a MIAA Division 1 Meet qualifying time of 27.2, while sophomore Amanda Ortendahl qualified for the Division 1 Meet with second place performances in the long jump (15-9) and 100 (13.1).
Senior Joe Roy won the 300 meter spring (44.1), while taking second place in both the 110 hurdles (16.0) and high jump (5-8), but the Bombardier boys' team fell 80-56 to the Whalers. New Bedford piled up 35 points in the field events to gain control. Kyle Dragun won the 200 (23.3) and took second in the long jump, while Mac Borgellas qualified for the MIAA Division 1 Meet with a 16.1 clocking for second place in the 110 hurdles.
