On Monday afternoon, the Hornets surrendered just eight games at singles and just three games in its two doubles wins as they improved to 2-0 with a 5-0 blanking of Hockomock League foe Canton. "Things are only going to get harder for us, but it's nice to start the season with a couple of wins," noted Etter, whose team is at Franklin on Wednesday. Will Condon and Ben Yeransian both won their No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches 6-0, 6-4 while Craig Margolin pitched the shutout at No. 3 singles. Also for Mansfield, Jeff Ivas-Ryan Chambers gave up just one game in another efficient win. Also in the Hockomock League, (2-0) scored a 4-1 verdict over Oliver Ames. Lucas DeForest didn't lose a game in taking his No. 1 singles match for the Bombardiers, while Matt Pereira and Sanjeeva Chetty also won their matches in straight sets.
