Norfolk seeking public's help in selecting a new school chief

NORFOLK - The Norfolk School Committee is seeking parents and community members to attend input sessions this week in the selection of a new school superintendent.

Public focus groups will be held Wednesday and Thursday about the attributes, experience and knowledge that a new superintendent should have. The groups also provide an opportunity for participants to identify immediate tasks which the new superintendent should address.

James Walsh with the New England School Development Council will assist the school committee throughout the search process and will conduct the focus groups.

The sessions will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Olive Day School library, and will last about an hour.

If unable to attend, comment forms will be available at the district's central office at the Freeman-Centennial School off Boardman Street. Superintendent Chris Augusta-Scott has been selected to head the Lowell public schools at the end of the school year.
