LACROSSE: King Philip boys coast




NORTH ATTLEBORO - Matt Schairer scored five goals and assisted on two others Monday to lead the King Philip Regional High boys' lacrosse team to a 15-7 triumph over North Attleboro.

Cam Olean added three goals, Dan Feeney two goals and one assist and Mike Saulnier two goals as the Warriors raced to a 9-3 lead by halftime. Saulnier also won 16 of 19 faceoffs.

Nate Robeson was a standout in the King Philip goal in the first half, turning away eight Rocketeer scoring bids. Mike Curran scored two goals to pace North.

Now 7-0 and 6-0 in the Hockomock League, KP visits Dartmouth in a non-league game Thursday.

KP girls 16, North Attleboro 1 WRENTHAM - Warrior junior scoring whiz Kerry Eaton scored her 100th career goal to help the Warriors take out North in Hockomock League play.

Sarah Byron led the King Philip offensive attack with five goals and an assist while Eaton had three goals, including her 100th, and two helpers. Also for the Warriors, Mary Pasquantonio had two goals and four assists, KP rolling out to a 10-0 halftime lead.

Katie Florence needed to make five saves in goal for the Warriors, who improved to 5-0 in the Hockomock, 5-1 overall.

For North (0-4), Emily Hickey had a busy afternoon in goal while Ashley Childers had the team's lone goal.

Feehan boys 9, Pembroke 6

ATTLEBORO - Michael Donovan, Andy Boyland and Alex Renner all potted two goals while Jake Pettine had a strong game in net, leading the Shamrocks to victory.

Pembroke got pulled to within a goal (7-6) in the fourth quarter, but Pettine shut the door and Feehan (2-1) tacked on a couple of insurance goals late. Pettine, a freshman, finished with 16 saves while Jake Curren and Kyle Schmitt were both solid on the defensive end.

Bridgewater-Raynham girls 9, Bishop Feehan 6

BRIDGEWATER - The Trojans outscored the Shamrocks 6-3 in the second half to capture the non-league match.

The teams battled to a 3-3 deadlock in the first half. However, Bridgewater-Raynham exploded for six goals in the second half for the win. Cori Semple scored five goals in the match for Bishop Feehan, while Meghan Leavey had one goal and two assists. The Shamrocks (0-3) will host North Attleboro next Thursday at 7 p.m.

Tri-County boys 8, Lynn Tech 3

LYNN - Mike Cavanaugh led the Cougar offense once again, scoring five goals to help the team move to 5-0 overall.

The two teams were knotted at 1-all after the first quarter, but Tri-County outscored Lynn Tech 4-0 in the second quarter to take control. Goalie Jamie McLaughlin finished up with seven saves for the Cougars.

Foxboro boys 3, Medway 2

MEDWAY - Sophomore James Saunders scored his second goal of the non-league match with 12 seconds remaining as Foxboro (3-1) earned its third victory in four starts, the most ever in a single season in the Warriors' young history of the program.

Foxboro girls 20, Bellingham 2

FOXBORO - Lindsey Felix scored five goals, while the Warrior defense blanked Bellingham during the second half to win the non-league match. Jenn Marves and Sarah Giardino each scored three goals for FHS.
