LACROSSE: KP boys stay unbeaten

King Philip’s Kendall Harty scored her 100th career goal.
WRENTHAM - Matt Schairer scored four goals as the unbeaten King Philip Regional High boys' lacrosse team held off Oliver Ames, 11-9, in a Hockomock League match Tuesday.
The Warriors created a 9-4 lead by halftime, but the Tigers scored four third-quarter goals and trailed by just one (9-8) entering the fourth quarter.
"We let them get back in, they got fired up," said KP coach Dan Warren of the Warriors allowing OA room to get back into contention. "It was just some lazy play - it was a good wakeup call for us."
Matt Saulnier went 12-for-22 in winning faceoffs, while scoring two goals and Andrew Sutton latched onto 11 ground balls in pacing the KP defensive effort in front of goalie Nate Robeson (six saves).
Kyle Lasher and Cam Olean each netted two goals for KP, while Dan Feeney was credited with five assists. The Warriors (10-0) entertain Wayland Friday.

Oliver Ames 3
EASTON - Kendall Harty scored three goals, including the 100th of her career, as the Warriors continued their winning ways with a Hockomock League triumph over Oliver Ames.
Harty's milestone goal came with 5:11 left in the first half, on a feed from Mary Pasquantonio. Harty took the feed at a sharp angle from the side of the OA net and stuffed the ball into the top far corner.
Harty also had four assists. Kerry Eaton had three goals and Hillary Bushway and Sarah Kilburne two apiece as KP took an 11-1 lead by halftime.
Katie Florence turned aside five shots in the KP goal. The Warriors (9-1, 8-0) visit Winchester for a non-league match today.
Franklin boys 17,
North Attleboro 2
NORTH ATTLEBORO - Senior captain Kyle Bainton and senior Ben Rickard each scored goals as the Rocketeers fell to the Panthers in a Hockomock League match.
Franklin took a 9-1 lead at the half and outscored North 8-1 in the second half. The Rocketeers (1-8, 1-7 league) will host Holliston in a non-league contest on Friday at 11 a.m.

North Attleboro 1
NORTH ATTLEBORO - The Panthers scored 13 first-half goals and did not allow the Rocketeers to score until the second half in winning the Hockomock League game. Brianne Doherty netted the lone goal for North. Goalie Emily Hickey was under siege throughout, while Shannon Moore figured significantly in the Rocketeer offense.
The Rocketeers (0-8) travel to Bishop Feehan High tonight at 7 for a match under the lights at McGrath Stadium.
Assabet boys 13,
Tri-County 11
MARLBORO - The Cougars surrendered the first three goals of the match to Assabet Valley, battled back to take a 6-5 halftime lead and then allowed five fourth-quarter goals in bowing. Tri-County goalie Jamie McLaughlin was phenomenal, keeping the Cougars in contention. He faced 42 shots and made 29 saves.
Mike Cavanaugh scored five goals for the Cougars (6-2). Derek Mucciarone added three goals, while Brendan Clist had two. Tri-County entertains Minuteman Regional Monday.
