Adler talk to urge Attleboro to explore 'green' industry

ATTLEBORO - Local environmentalist and former City Councilor Charles Adler will continue to explore the interconnection between the environment and the economy and the need to promote both to keep them strong at a talk on May 14.

It will be Adler's second discussion on "greening the local economy" and will focus on ways "to stimulate the local economy that also help to develop human potential and protect the environment."

Last month, he talked about ways to promote economic well being at the local level by developing community loan funds, community supported agriculture programs, community development corporations and the development of local currencies, barter exchanges and land trusts.

About 30 people attended the first talk, Adler said.

The session will be held at the public library in the Balfour Room starting at 7 p.m.

More information on the topics covered in Adler's talks can be found online at http://greentenmile.ning.com.
