Abigail Adams to arrive for tea, floral display
DIGHTON - Take some time for tea with one of America's favorite First Ladies as Abigail Adams "arrives" at the Dighton Public Library on Wednesday, March 26 at 6 p.m. for tea and floral arranging.
Guests will create a sophisticated teacup arrangement using fresh spray rose, carnations and babies' breath to design a quaint, lovely floral piece. Floral designer Sally Gruber heads the event.
The price is $13, paid at sign-up. Space is limited. The deadline to sign up is Monday, March 24. For more information, call 508-669-6421.
Night summer camp to be held at Caratunk
SEEKONK - The Audubon Society of Rhode Island will hold a series of summer nature camps this summer, beginning June 25 and ending Aug. 17 For children ages pre-kindergaten through grade 7, the camps run for one-week sessions.
The camps include Night Camp at Caratunk Wildlife Refuge in Seekonk. Campers stay up late and explore nature's nocturnal world from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Fee is $145 members; $195 non-members. Caratunk will offer various spring programs
SEEKONK - Caratunk Wildlife Refuge announced the following April programs. To register, call 401-949-5454.
April 4, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., woodcock walk and night hike. Witness the aerial courtship display of the American Woodcock. Fee is $8 for member adults, $4 member children, $12 non-member adults, $6 non-member children, for ages 7 and up.
April 15, 7 to 8:30 p.m., bird identification workshop. This program is designed to give the beginning birder all the necessary tools for identification. Fee is $10 for members, $15 non-members, for ages 12 and up.
April 29, 7 to 8:30 p.m., photography workshop. This program is a way for the beginner or intermediate photographer to learn skills and techniques necessary to take the hobby to the next level. The fee is $10 members, $15 non-members, for ages 12 and up.
Seekonk to conduct preschool screening
SEEKONK - The school department April 1 to 3 will be conducting preschool screening for children who will be turning 3 or 4 years on or before Aug. 31 and are residents of Seekonk.
Developmental, social skills and speech and language screening that will take about one hour will be held at the Martin Elementary School.
Preschool classes meet 2 hours a day. The four-day morning class is held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Tuition is $140 per month, with a $70 registration fee.
The five-day program will be held Mondays through Fridays from 12:30 to 3 p.m., with tuition $165 per month and a $80 registration fee.
Participation is based on a lottery. To receive an application, schedule an appointment or for further information, call Jean in the special services office at 508-399-5068. Applications are due March 24.
D'Amico announces
regular office hours
State Rep. Steve D'Amico, D-Seekonk, said his office hours will include:
First Monday of the month, Seekonk library, 410 Newman Ave., 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Second Monday of the month, Blanding Library in Rehoboth, 124 Bay State Road, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Office hours in Norton will continue to be coordinated with the other two Norton representatives, and therefore, will not have a regular meeting time. Although office hours are set up in each town, anyone from the district may attend any of the office hours.

Re-gift project
aids local pantry
REHOBOTH - New clothes, bath and beauty products and candles are being accepted for the Re-gift Rehoboth Project, which benefits the Helping Hands Food Pantry.
Unused, unopened donations may be dropped off at Fitness Mom Studio, 340 Anawan St., in the back from 3 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays or Saturday mornings, or at Curves on 289 Winthrop St. during business hours.
Girl Scouts and local church youth groups will collect, sort, and organize. These will be brought to the Helping Hands pantry for Rehoboth residents.
