City, RI police hunt for pizza robbery suspect

PAWTUCKET - Attleboro police were on the lookout Saturday for a thief who robbed a Domino's Pizza on Newport Avenue, reportedly at gunpoint, early Saturday morning.

The robbery took place at 3:12 a.m. at the Domino's at 448 Newport Ave., as the pizza parlor's employees were finishing closing up for the night, Pawtucket Police Sgt. Al Herrera said. Domino's closes at 2 a.m. on weekends.

Other police said the robber brandished a handgun, and they did not know how he fled the scene.

The crime is still under investigation, Herrera said. No further details were available Saturday night. A Domino's manager declined to comment.
