Advanced musical theater for children for ages 10 to 13, a two-week educational program to help children develop skills essential for musical theater. The class finishes with a show for friends and family. The class runs Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. from July 7 to 18, with a total of 30 hours of theater education. The class is limited to 10 students. Class fee is $275, MMAS members, $235. Advanced musical theater for teens, for ages 13 to 16, two-week educational program exploring the world of musical theater. The class finishes with a show for friends and family. This classes is limited to 10 students. The class runs Monday through Friday from July 21 to Aug. 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a total of 30 hours of theater education. Class fee is $275, MMAS members, $235. Summer theater play production at the Black Box Theater. This four-week summer program teaches children and teens all aspects of producing a show for the public. Students will enjoy theater games and character development while actually working on a one-act play that will be presented at the Black Box Theater. The class finishes with three public performances in the Black Box Theatre on the first weekend of August. This class is limited to 15 students. It meets Monday to Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. from July 7 to Aug. 3. Show dates are Friday, Aug. 1 and Saturday Aug. 2 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 3 at 2 p.m. Class fee is $300 MMAS members, $250. Summer acting classes for ages 9 to 13, in two, two-week sessions. Class meets Monday to Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. Young actors will explore the world of the stage through theater games, while developing a full one-act play with musical numbers which will be performed on the last day of class. Session 1 is July 7 to 18, Monday to Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. Session 2 is July 21 to Aug. 1, Monday to Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. Class fee is $190 per student, MMAS members $170. Summer program instructors include Courtney Bottomley, Ken Butler, Rachel Parkman and Alice Springer.
