Obituaries were published for Robert Jones "Bob" Ruthart, 62, of North Attleboro; Harry H. Schricker, 94, of North Attleboro; John M. Gomes, 93, of Norton; and Margaret W. (Jones) McKillop, 86, of Wrentham.
Robert Jones, Ruthart, 62
NORTH ATTLEBORO - Robert Jones "Bob" Ruthart, 62, of Bayberry Road, died Thursday morning, April 17, 2008 in his home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Fairfield) Ruthart for 27 years.
Born Feb. 17, 1946 in Pittsburgh, Pa., he was a son of the late Robert and Margaret (Jones) Ruthart.
Bob had been a resident of Bayberry Road for the past four years.
He grew up in Pennsylvania and was a 1964 graduate of Penn Manor High School. He then received an associate's degree in arts and science in 1966 from Paul Smith's College and later a bachelor's of science degree from Oklahoma State University.
Robert worked as a general manager for 40 years in the hotel industry in many locations across the United States.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War with the First Infantry Division's Big Red One from August 1968 until July 1970, and received many medals for his service, including the Bronze Star.
Bob was a Pittsburgh Steeler fan and an avid collector of Steeler memorabilia. He loved sports and devoutly followed the Oklahoma State Cowboys, and was lovingly devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren, and loved watching his grandson's sporting events.
In addition to his wife, survivors include four sons: Matthew Ruthart of Oklahoma, Kenneth Chamberlain of Wrentham, Brian and his wife, Samantha Miller of Wrentham, and Robert Miller at home; a daughter, Rhonda Chamberlain of Cortland, N.Y.; grandchildren: Michael and Taylor Miller, Melissa Aleman, and Christopher Chamberlain; two great-grandchildren, Noah and Caleb Aleman; and his mother-in-law, Florence Fairfield.
Funeral services with burial with veteran's honors in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will be held privately.

Harry H. Schricker, 94
NORTH ATTLEBORO - Harry H. Schricker, 94, of Spring Street, died at home on Saturday morning, April 19, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Jean (Gabourie) Schricker for over 56 years.
Born on Nov. 17, 1913, in North Attleboro, he was a son of the late John and Emma (Hartman) Schricker.
Harry was a lifelong resident of North Attleboro and worked for many years at the Howard H. Sweet & Sons Co. in Attleboro, before retiring.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the invasions of North Africa, Normandy, Sicily and Salerno. Harry was an avid tennis and horseshoe player and also loved bowling. He was a member of the Attleboro Veterans Writers' Club and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks in Attleboro, and was past president of the Little North Attleboro League and a member of the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association.
In addition to his wife, survivors include six children: Faye Sumner and her husband Robert of Plainville, Ronald Lanteigne and his wife Nancy of North Attleboro, Deborah Berte and her husband Stephen of North Attleboro, Daniel Schricker and his wife Janet of North Attleboro, Sally Cutler of Attleboro, and Leslie Farrow and her husband Robert of North Attleboro; two sisters, Barbara Musil of North Attleboro and Shirley Morris of Dighton; ten grandchildren: Tara Watts, Jason Sumner, Aaron Sumner, Matthew Schricker, Eric Schricker, Brett Schricker, Derek Cutler, Brandi Cutler, Kylee Farrow and Cori Farrow; and three great-grandchildren: Emily Watts, Nolan Watts and Ashley Sumner. He was the brother of the late Theresa Mancini.
A funeral service will be held in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove St., North Attleboro, on Tuesday at 2 p.m., followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Attleboro Falls. A time for visitation will be held immediately prior to the service, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., in the funeral home.

John M. Gomes, 93
NORTON - John M. Gomes, 93, died on Saturday, April 19, 2008, at the Epoch Senior Care Center in Norton. He was the beloved husband of the late Lillian G. (Baldwin) Gomes, who passed away on Oct. 10, 2007. Mr. and Mrs. Gomes were wed on Dec. 26, 1942.
Born in Easton on March 22, 1915, he was a son of the late Alfred and Maria (Baptista) Gomes.
He grew up in Easton and was educated in Easton Public Schools. At age 14, he started his first job, weighing dry goods at Mitchell's General Store in Easton. In 1932, he went to work at the Ames Shovel Co. in North Easton.
In 1934, he began employment at the Panther Rubber Co. in Stoughton. In 1936, he began his career as a meat cutter at Perdigao's Market in Stoughton, and in 1980 he retired from EMPCO Foods Inc. in South Easton.
Mr. Gomes served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He served in the Amphibian Forces in the Pacific Theatre and was awarded two Bronze Stars for actions taken during assault landings. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant, and upon returning home went to work at Elm Farm in Taunton.
A communicant of St. Mary's Church in Norton, John was a former member of the Holy Name Society and also a former active volunteer at the annual church bazaar, serving as chairman in 1965. He was a member of the Norton VFW, the Lt. Harold A. Healy American Legion Post 222 in Norton, and the AMVETS. He was also a longtime member of the Madeira Club.
Mr. Gomes was an avid New England sports fan and in 1928 had the pleasure of attending his first Red Sox game, where he watched legends Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig play ball. He had made his home in Norton for the past 55 years.
He is survived by his devoted children: Katherine A. Rich and her husband David of Mashpee, Alfred D. Gomes and his wife Kristen of Norton, Norton Fire Chief Richard J. Gomes and his wife Theresa of Norton, and the late John F. Gomes; his cherished grandchildren: David B. Rich III and his wife Anna of Pinehurst, N.C., Betsy R. Koch and her husband Christopher of Hyannis, Melissa A. Gomes of Falmouth, Andrew R. Gomes of Norton, Christopher D. Gomes and his fiancée Elizabeth DeYesso of North Attleboro, and Stacey M. Gomes of Norton; his great-grandchildren: William and Henry Rich, Christopher Koch Jr., and Mia and Ryan Gomes. He was the brother of Philomena Martin of Brockton, Constance Grant of Easton, and the late Manuel, Frank, Alfred, Louis and Augustine Gomes and Mary DeThomas. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
His funeral, which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday, April 23 at 10 a.m. from the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (off Route 140, Taunton Avenue), Norton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, South Worcester St., Norton. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Easton.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.

Margaret W. McKillop, 86
WRENTHAM - Margaret W. (Jones) McKillop, 86, of Wrentham, where she had lived for 19 years, died Friday, April 18, 2008, at the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late George and Catherine (Feeney) Jones. She was a graduate of Mansfield High School, Class of 1940, and attended the University of Massachusetts Boston. She had worked as a clerk for the former Fernandes Market in Plainville, and had volunteered for 15 years for HESSCO Elder Services in Sharon. She and her husband enjoyed keeping gardens together, and loved decorating her home with African violets. She also enjoyed family time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Formerly of Foxboro and Plainville, she was for over 66 years the wife of Donald McKillop Sr. Mother of Donald McKillop Jr. of North Penobscot, Maine, Brenda M. Boyd of Heath, Ohio, and Donna Dunn of Wrentham. She is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 21, 2008, at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 47 West St., Route 140, Wrentham, at 10 a.m.
Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the R. J. Ross Funeral Home, 135 South St., Route 1A, Wrentham. Burial will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
