Michael Dobro, 55
WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. - Michael Dobro of West Palm Beach, Fla., formerly of North Attleboro, entered into rest Friday, April 18, 2008 at the age of 55.
He was the dear son of David and Freda Dobro of Plymouth, and the loving brother of Matthew Dobro and Ellen Tobin and the late Chester Dobro.
Services will be held on Wednesday, April 23 at noon at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington St., Canton.
Interment will be at Sharon Memorial Park in Sharon.

Dr. Alan Arthur Chastanet, M.D., 86 - Dr. Alan Arthur Chastanet, M.D., of Andover, Maine and Plymouth, died Sunday, April 20, 2008 at his home, Pynelis, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
ANDOVER, MAINE
He was born in Castries, St. Lucia, West Indies on Sept. 7, 1921, the eldest son of Arthur Charles Chastanet and Iris (Monplasir) Chastanet, in a family of 10 children. He was educated at St. Mary's College in Castries, St. Lucia.
During World War II, he served as a civilian radio operator in HMS Royal Navy in St. Lucia. He attended Harvard Dental School, receiving a DMD degree in 1951, a M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School in 1953, and did his internship and residency program at Boston City Hospital in Boston.
He was a board-certified radiologist who practiced at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro for 30 years, retiring in 1988. He had a private radiology office in Franklin, where he also served as town physician.
Dr. Chastanet was a lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Reserve and was honorably discharged in March 1969.
Dr. Chastanet moved his family to Maine in 1989 and began a second career as chairman of the Department of Radiology at Rumford Community Hospital in Rumford, Maine, until his retirement in September 2007.
While in Maine, he enjoyed gardening, his orchard, raising sheep, and restoring his historic home, Pynelis, in Andover. He was an avid reader and enjoyed discussing politics. For many years, Dr. Chastanet enjoyed lobstering and fishing at the family's summer home in Plymouth.
He was a communicant at Zion Lutheran Church in Plymouth.
Dr. Chastanet was a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Radiology, Society of Nuclear Medicine, Massachusetts Medical Society, Maine Medical Society, and Bristol North Medical Society.
Dr. Chastanet leaves his wife, Marcia A. Chastanet of Andover, Maine and their three children: Michele L. Chastanet-Shinn, her husband J. Robert Shinn and their two sons, Hayden Alexander and Riley Alan Shinn of Hawthorn Woods, Ill.; James Alan Chastanet of Arlington, Va.; and Ryan M. Chastanet of Bethel, Maine. He also leaves three sons from his first marriage: David L. Chastanet and his wife Nancy of Riverside, R.I., Paul Chastanet, and his wife Lori and daughter Jordan of Northboro, and James Arthur Chastanet of Miami, Fla. He also leaves two sisters, Alice Kefalas of Lexington and June Zenar of Plantation Hills, Fla.; along with three brothers: Sir Michael Chastanet of Castries, St. Lucia, West Indies; Desmond Chastanet of Cherry Hill, N.J.; and Dr. David Chastanet of White Plains, N.Y.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3 at the Andover Congregational Church in Andover, Maine with the Rev. Jane Rich officiating.

Maria S. Cavaco, 82
ATTLEBORO - Maria S. Cavaco, 82, of Robert Street, Attleboro, a retired assembler, died Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Renato C. Cavaco.
Born in Sao Miguel, Portugal on Feb. 27, 1926, Maria was a daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Sousa) Vieira.
Mrs. Cavaco was the loving mother of Gilbert Cavaco of Acushnet and Pauline Kamens of North Attleboro. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Dorothy Cavaco, Jessica Cavaco, Christine Cavaco, Bryan Kamens and Bethany Kamens; her great-grandchildren, Joseph and Isabella Kamens; and her siblings, Daniel Vieira of Portugal and Rosa Oliveira of Attleboro.
She was the sister of the late Sylvester, Carlos and Joseph Vieira.
Born in Portugal, Maria came to the United States in 1962.
She worked as an assembler at Wells Benrus Company and later retired from the former L.G. Balfour Company after many years of service.
Maria was an accomplished seamstress and craftsperson. She also enjoyed cooking for her family.
She was a communicant of Holy Ghost Parish since her arrival to this country in 1962.
Maria loved spending time with her family, friends and fellow parishioners.
A funeral will be held today, Tuesday, April 22 at 9 a.m. from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, 71 Linden St., Attleboro.
Maria will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Renato in St. John's Cemetery, West Street, Attleboro.

Marie Rose Tremblay, 87 - Marie Rose (LaRochelle) Tremblay, 87, of Grant Street, North Attleboro, died on Sunday, April 20, 2008 surrounded by the love of her family at the Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro, where she had been a resident for the past nine months. She was the wife of the late Normand F. Tremblay, to whom she was married on July 5, 1941 and who died on Jan. 12, 1996.

Born in St. Honore, Canada on Sept. 11, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Sicard) LaRochelle. She lived in Canada in her youth until immigrating to the United States and settling in Central Falls, R.I., prior to moving to North Attleboro, where she had resided for decades. She was educated at Sacred Heart School in North Attleboro.
Mrs. Tremblay was a devoted and dedicated homemaker to her husband and children.
She was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Church in North Attleboro, where she was a member of the St. Anne Society.
For many years, she served as a volunteer at the former North Attleboro chapter of the American Red Cross thrift store.
Her favorite pastimes included enjoying the beauty of flowers, gardening and visits to local flea markets and yard sales.
A woman of warmth and love, she treasured the time spent with her beloved grandchildren and always had a special affection for the babies in the family.
She leaves two daughters, Ann Marie Bertrand and her husband Michael Bertrand of Pawtucket and Denise Kiley and her husband Terrell Kiley of North Attleboro; a daughter-in-law, Irene (Bravo) Tremblay of North Attleboro, who was married to her late son Donald Tremblay, who died on May 2, 2005; eight grandchildren: Michael Bertrand, Ty Bertrand, Tara MacIver, Jill Quinn, Christina Daniels, Susan Tremblay, Shea Kiley and Erin Becker; 15, soon to be 16, great- grandchildren: Jared, Kyle, Justin, Connor, Nolan, Jonathan, Jeremey, Mikey, Nicole, Camryn, Cassidy, Carly, Taylor, Christine and Cesi; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late George LaRochelle, Frank LaRochelle, Paul LaRochelle and Lionel LaRochelle.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Thursday, April 24 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Ave. (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, ¾ mile on left), Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.

Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
Mrs. Tremblay's late husband, Normand F. Tremblay, will also be laid to rest at the same time with military honors recognizing his years of service during the World War II era.
Following cemetery services, an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a home in Cotuit.

Rita M. Rockwood, 88
NORTON - Rita M. (Cintioni) Rockwood, 88, of Norton, formerly of Mansfield and Somerville, died on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of Joseph D. Rockwood. Mr. and Mrs. Rockwood were married on Nov. 16, 1943.
Born in Lawrence on July 6, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Nazzareno and Ersilia (Cascioli) Cintioni. Rita grew up in Somerville and was a 1937 graduate of Somerville High School.
A retired dietary aide, Mrs. Rockwood worked for the Little Sisters of The Poor, a Catholic retirement home in Somerville, for 13 years before retiring in 1985.
As a young lady, she studied opera and sang in various church choirs and had the opportunity to appear on radio station WORL in Medford.
Rita's hobbies included gardening. But her favorite times were the holidays, where she truly shined. An extraordinary cook, she would spoil her family with meals prepared in the tradition of her Italian heritage. Her dishes prepared with fish were remarkable.
A communicant of St. Mary's Church in Mansfield, Rita had made her home in Norton for the past seven years, was a former 17-year resident of Mansfield and had formerly lived for over 35 years in Somerville.
In addition to her beloved husband of over 64 years, she is survived by her devoted daughters, Sandra R. Ruscetta and her husband Anthony of Rehoboth and Jirina M. Riley of Rehoboth; her sister, Rose Iacozzi of Somerville; her cherished grandchildren, Kimberly Gero, Kristine O'Leary and Jeffrey Ruscetta; her great-grandchildren, Megan Ruscetta, Lindsay Ruscetta, Nicholas Ruscetta, Mackenzie O'Leary and Christopher O'Leary; and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Thursday, April 24 at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106), Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Roslindale.
Visitation will be held prior to the funeral Mass on Thursday beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
In lieu of flowers, Rita's family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the patients fund at Madonna Manor Nursing Home, 85 North Washington St., North Attleboro, MA 02760.
