Robert M. Smith, 67
MANSFIELD - Robert M. Smith, formerly of Mansfield, died on Sunday, May 4, 2008 after a long struggle with heart disease. He was 67.
A native of Kentucky, Bob was the son of Stanley M. Smith and Nancy Pettus Smith of Kentucky. He was a graduate of Union College in Barbourville, Ky., and Boston University School of Theology.
Bob's careers included pastoring churches, founding and directing Healthcare of Southeastern Massachusetts, and developing a software program for oil dealers.
Bob's passionate concern for social justice was evidenced in his preaching and his love for performing protest and folk music with friends. He was also an avid creator of HO model train layouts.
Bob is survived by Nancy, his wife of 45 years; his son David Smith and wife Leanne of Salem, and his son Daniel Smith and wife Maggie of Fairview, Mich. His grandchildren are Laura and Patrick Smith of Salem and Hanisi and Hefrani Smith of Michigan. He is also survived by his brother, James W. Smith of Brookline; two nieces, and one nephew.
Friends and relatives are invited to a Memorial Service on Monday, May 12 at 2 p.m. at Holy Trinity United Methodist Church, 16 Sylvan St., Danvers, followed by a time of food and sharing at the Jubilee Yacht Club, 127 Water St., Beverly.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923.

Hector E. Dugas, 87
ATTLEBORO - Hector E. Dugas, 87, of Thirteenth Street, Attleboro, died on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at his residence following an eight-year illness as he was surrounded by the love of his entire family. He was the husband of Jacqueline (Gomes) Perron Dugas, to whom he was married on June 5, 1983 in Seekonk.
Born in North Attleboro on May 21, 1920, he was a son of the late Seniah and Lillian (Cloutier) Dugas. He was raised and educated in North Attleboro, where he was a 1938 graduate of North Attleboro High School and had been a resident of the City of Attleboro for more than 40 years.
Mr. Dugas was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Navy, having proudly served during the World War II era.
He was employed as a salesman for many years in the bakery industry, having been affiliated with Cushman Bakery, and later with Nutmeg Merchandising as a toy salesman.
Mr. Dugas attended All Saints Episcopal Church in Attleboro.
His favorite pastimes included playing cards, watching football and baseball, and bowling, and enjoyed participating in a cribbage league with his son at the End Zone in Foxboro.
Times spent amongst family and friends were most treasured.
In addition to his wife of almost 25 years, he leaves five children: Ralph Dugas of North Attleboro, April Dugas of Mashpee, Pam Dugas of Southbridge, Linda Dugas of North Conway and Laurie Precourt of Attleboro; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence Dugas of Pawtucket and Donald Dugas of Norton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Edward Dugas, Emery Dugas, Beatrice Astin, Margaret Bristol and Jeannette Dugas.
Visitation has been respectfully omitted.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a graveside funeral service with military honors on Monday, May 12 at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen's Cemetery, 683 South Main St. (Route 152), Attleboro, with the Rev. Katheryn "Katie" Keene, rector of All Saints Episcopal Church, North Main Street, Attleboro, officiating. Burial will follow.
Following cemetery services, an invitation will be extended to join the family for a continued time of fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.
