Obituaries were reported for Frances Walek, 87, of Seekonk, Gary Balunas, 49, of North Attleboro, and Donald Cargill Sr., 66, of Easton.
Frances Walek, 87
SEEKONK - Frances C. "Frank" Walek, 87, of Greenfield Street, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Agnes T. "Peg" (Maliborski) Walek.
Born in Woonsocket, R.I., he was a son of the late Michael and Zofia (Slonka) Walek. He lived in Seekonk for the past 47 years and was formerly of Pawtucket.
Before retiring, he was employed as a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in the Pawtucket office.
He was a second lieutenant in the Army Air Corps during World War II, serving as a flight engineer.
He was a member of the Fierlit-Korzen A.L. Post 79 of Central Falls, R.I., was on the board of directors of the Pawtucket Post Office Credit Union and was a member of NARFE Chapter 13 of Pawtucket. He was also a charter member of the St. Mary's Seniors of Seekonk.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards, deep sea fishing and was a devout Red Sox and Patriots fan.
Besides his wife, he leaves two devoted sons, Michael J. Walek of Cape Canaveral, Fla., and Gregory R. Walek and his wife Mary of North Attleboro. He also leaves his loving grandchildren: Gregory, William, Anne, Francis C. and Elizabeth Walek; and nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Joseph and Raymond Walek, Mary Agin, Valerie Krzyzek and Jennie Swiader.
A funeral with military honors will be held Saturday, May 17 at 8:30 a.m. from the Karol A. Romenski & Sons Funeral Home, 342 High St., Central Falls, R.I., with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Coyle Drive, Seekonk at 10 a.m.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Community VNA, 10 Emory St., Attleboro, MA 02703-9944 would be greatly appreciated.
Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
Gary Balunas, 49
NORTH ATTLEBORO - Gary F. Balunas, 49, originally of Hyde Park, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at his home in North Attleboro. He was the devoted husband of the late Bernadette (Boucher) Balunas and the loving father of Katrina and Cynthia Balunas.
He leaves his brother, Alan Balunas of Hingham, and his sister, Denise Larson of Tampa, Fla.
He was raised in Hyde Park, and was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. He furthered his studies at Northeastern University and Labourne Nursing School.
Gary was a former EMT with Fallon Ambulance Services and a former ER tech with Carney Hospital. He later became an OR tech with Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro and a chauffer with East Coast Limousine. He enjoyed entertaining children of all ages performing as Gonzo the Clown.
Gary was also a longtime friend of Bill W.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 16 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Margaret's Church, 1098 Pawtucket Ave., Rumford, RI 02916. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Boston Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 414421, Boston, MA 02241-4421 or the St. Margaret's Church Building Fund, 1098 Pawtucket Ave., Rumford, RI 02916 would be deeply appreciated.

Donald Cargill Sr., 66
EASTON - Donald O. Cargill Sr., 66, a resident of Easton for the past 34 years, died Tuesday evening, May 13, 2008 at home under the care of Hospice and his family. He was the husband of Susan (Askew) Cargill for 41 years.
Born in Attleboro on Sept. 13, 1941, a son of the late Charles and Gladys (Williams) Cargill, he was raised and educated in Attleboro.
Donald worked as a truck driver for Pool Builders of Norwood for the past eight years. Previously, he had been employed by Blane Polymers of Mansfield.
He was an avid fisherman, who enjoyed boating, deep sea fishing and auto mechanics.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children: Donald Cargill Jr. of Easton, Shelly Walker of Ashuelot, N.H., Stacey Murphy of East Wareham, Scott Cargill of Phoenix, Ariz., and Suzanne McKenzie of Easton; and is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, May 17 at 10 a.m. in the Kane Funeral Home, 605 Washington St. (Route 138), Easton. Interment will follow in Furnace Village Cemetery, Easton.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
