Perfect ending for the Pats?
We asked The Page staffers to give us their prediction for the big game on Sunday. Most are unabashedly optimistic about another Patriots Super Bowl victory, while a few are blissfully oblivious to the whole to-do. Oh, and there's one Giant fan out there ... and she's from Foxboro!
Hands down, the New England Patriots are going to win Super Bowl XLII. This season alone the Patriots broke four NFL records: most points scored in a regular season (551), most regular season games won consecutively (16), most touchdown passes thrown in a regular season (Tom Brady), and most touchdown receptions in a regular season (Randy Moss.) Not to mention the two playoff games the Patriots won, boosting their consecutive number of wins to 18. "It's only special if we can finish it. The 18-0 record is nothing without finishing," said Patriots linebacker Junior Seau. The Patriots have everything to fight for and I have no doubt their unbelievable fight through the past 18 games will lead them to victory once more.

I admit it, I'm a Giants fan in the middle of Patriots country! It's especially tough for me, seeing as I live in Foxboro, the home of Gillette Stadium. Of course I root for the Patriots when they aren't playing the Giants, but seeing as I'm originally from New Jersey, I'm a Giants fan first. So go Giants, win that Super Bowl!

I predict that the game will be neck-and-neck until the Chicago Cubs score the winning goal with the help of Wayne Gretzky. Why? I think the real question here is, why not?
- Jeremy Lallier, Attleboro High School
My prediction for the game is that a giant freak snowstorm in Arizona will hit and three feet of snow will pile up in an hour and make it impossible for the Patriots to play and several key players from both teams will be injured in car accidents and the whole thing will be called off.

Being from Europe, my family has never really enjoyed the game they call "Futbol Americana." But the huge tradition of the Super Bowl eventually dawned on us and we started having Super Bowl get-togethers every year with tons of food and people enjoying the game. The New England Patriots have always been my favorite team - how could you blame me? They are remarkable preformers, have incredibly devoted fans and a really cute quarterback. This year's game is really something special. This year would be - excuse me, will be - the fourth Super Bowl win for Patriots in six years. Which means they have been preforming well and winning since I was 10 years old. I have no doubts in my team this Sunday. After a record breaking 18 straight wins, why would I? The team is going to have to work hard and give everything they have when playing the Giants this Sunday, but that is what they have been doing this entire season. Therefore, I don't see Sunday being any different from the last 18 games the Patriots have played and won with smiles on their faces. I don't think the rest of America is really ready for what New England is bringing this Sunday. I really don't think America is ready to admit that New England is nothing but the best, just ask our sports teams.

Well, I never really watched football too closely before this season, but it's obvious that the Pats are looking good!! Even with the little football knowledge that I've acquired over the past few weeks, I know that putting Tom Brady up against Eli Manning is no contest. All the hubbub about Brady's leg is probably just that - hubbub. I don't believe a word that the tabloids are putting out. Anyway, besides my prediction of a total Pats victory, I predict massive lines at Dick's and Modell's for Patriots Superbowl XLII victory attire. Oh, and lots and lots of Pepto Bismol. I do love my spicy soy wings!

My prediction for the big game is: New England Patriots 31, New York Giants 28. This game is going to be extremely tough for both teams because they played wicked hard for the whole season and now their seasons have come down to this final game. The Patriots and Giants faced each other on Dec. 29, so both teams know how to play against the other. The Patriots won by 3 points in that game, so now the Giants are looking for revenge and to break the Patriots' 18-0 record. The Patriots have broken many records already, and want to continue breaking records and close out the greatest single season in NFL history by going 19-0. Although the Super Bowl game will be tough, the Patriots will definitely win and become the greatest team in NFL history, maybe even the greatest sports team in any sport.

With just days away from the big game, the excitement is rising. Super Bowl parties, football spirit and trash talking the other team is what it's all about. The New England Patriots are undefeated. So while I'm stuffing my face with junk, watching the game, the Patriots will lead New England to victory! Let's go Pats!
- Lidia Banushi, Attleboro High School
The game will be a nail-biter but the Pats will come out on top (knock on wood).

I predict that the Patriots will win. They've been doing great all season, and Tom Brady can't be hurt that badly since he was walking at the sendoff rally. The Patriots have a team full of superstars who all believe in their coach.
- Sarah Joncas, Mansfield High School
My prediction is that the Patriots will win big time...because that's what they do. Win.
- Michelle Roy, Mansfield High School
The Pats are going to kick butt on Sunday because we have worked really hard this year and I know that Brady and the rest of the team isn't going to lose now.
- Nicole Nelson, Norton High School
I think the New England Patriots will win the Super Bowl. They've come a long way in achieving the perfect season, and I don't think they will lose it in the Super Bowl. They have a lot of determination and are a really strong team. Go Pats!
