The Question
What are you most thankful for this year?
Top Headlines -Rachel Ide, Norton High School This year I have had a lot of things to be thankful for: I live in a new house which my hardworking family has turned into an inviting home, my aunt is in remission for cancer, my dad has a great new job, and I am doing well in school. This year has been great and prosperous toward me and has given me many things to give thanks for, which I see as an amazing blessing. - Michelle Roy, Mansfield High School This year, I am most thankful for my freedom and safety. Every day, thousands of Americans are risking their lives to keep our country safe, and yet we often don't even think of them. We don't realize that we are a country at war: there are no enemy soldiers, no bomb sirens, and no real safety concerns. Sure, our country has problems, but we at home are all a lot more fortunate than the American soldiers who are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. I'm thankful that instead of dealing with the everyday realities of war, I get to deal with life's little problems - too much homework, a messy room, and deciding what I want to wear in the morning. - Sarah Joncas, Mansfield High School This year, I'm thankful for my best friend. She stands by my side when the tough times come around. When I'm faced with stressful situations, she helps me through. We make each other laugh and we encourage each other to succeed. Without her by my side, the world would seem like a more challenging and lonely place. - Brittany Stopa, Foxboro High School I am thankful for the Boston Red Sox. They have been my one and only favorite baseball team since I was born. Most of all, I'm thankful for Mike Lowell, so Boston better give him a four year deal! - Rachel Maggiani, Norton High I'm most thankful for my friends and family. I'm not being patriotic; there are a lot of things about the American government that I don't agree with. There are a lot of opportunities out there for me. In the society I live in, I know that if I make a mistake, it's not the end of the world. I'm thankful that I can be given more than one chance at something." - Jacqueline Kamel, Norton High School I'm thankful for my family and friends.
