Pair allegedly forced youth into their car in Woonsocket
NORTH ATTLEBORO - A local couple arrested in March in the alleged robbery and kidnapping of a 17-year-old boy in Woonsocket, R.I., has been indicted by a Providence County grand jury.
Dale E. O'Connell, 44, and Diane R. Dufault, 48, both of 536 High St. in North Attleboro, had pleaded innocent after their arrest last month to similar charges.
The boy told police the couple forced him in their car on Cottage Street on March 20 and accused him of burning two holes in a car seat after borrowing the vehicle, and wanted him to pay for repairs.
The grand jury handed up an indictment Friday charging the couple with first-degree robbery, conspiracy, kidnapping and possession of cocaine, according to the Rhode Island Attorney General's office.
They are scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on June 18.
