DBC tickets go on sale Monday

MARK STOCKWELLDeutsche Bank President Seth Waugh, left, presents the DBC trophy to 2007 winner Phil Mickelson. Tickets go on sale Monday.

NORTON - Tickets for the 2008 Deutsche Bank Championship will go on sale Monday, June 2, for two weeks only. With a sellout expected as the Championship enters its second year as a PGA TOUR Playoffs event, there is little doubt that past champions Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, Adam Scott and Phil Mickelson will be a part of an incredibly strong field that is sure to further increase demand for this already-popular event, which has become a New England Labor Day tradition.

Tickets are available online at www.dbchampionship.com, by telephone at 877-TIX-4DBC or in person at any local Stop & Shop.

Fans at the Deutsche Bank Championship now benefit from the pairing system used during the PGA TOUR Playoffs. The players are paired on the first two days based on their position in the FedExCup standings. Last year, that meant that Woods, Mickelson and Singh played together on Friday and Saturday, and the resulting galleries dwarfed anything ever seen on the grounds of TPC Boston.

The 2008 Deutsche Bank Championship, which features a $7 million purse and a $1.26 million winner's check, will take place Aug. 26-Sept. 1 at TPC Boston in Norton. It is the second of four stops in the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup and will feature the top 120 golfers on the PGA TOUR. Woods won last year's inaugural FedExCup and its $10 million purse.
