SEEKONK - Two New York residents allegedly passed counterfeit bills at Bed, Bath and Beyond on Route 6 and several other stores throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island Friday.
East Providence, R.I. police arrested the pair later that day, according to published reports.
Carlos Nave Serrano, 33, and Claudia Rojas, 39, of New York were charged with possession of fake bills and obstructing officers by giving fake names. They are being held at the ACI in Cranston, R.I. on federal immigration charges.
The Bed Bath and Beyond clerk called Seekonk police after identifying the bill as a fake using a special pen.
