ATTLEBORO - Officials intend to keep truck traffic away from homes by dead-ending a residential street that crosses the main road in the new industrial business park.
Attleboro Redevelopment Authority Executive Director Michael Milanoski said new plans call for the southern end of Adelray Lane to be blocked at its intersection with Commerce Way.
Commerce Way is the main road through the park and runs from County Street to Tiffany Street.
Adelray starts at Lanthier Way, crosses Commerce Way, which is still under construction, and ends in a cul-de-sac.
There are about 10 homes on the southern end of Adelray.
Officials want to prevent trucks from using Adelray to reach County Street by using Lanthier, which is also a residential road.
Milanoski said the dead end will be constructed so that it looks good in the newly built neighborhood.
The new design will have to go before the city council for approval, but Milanoski said he believes the change will be approved.
"I don't see any complications with this. The neighborhood is very supportive," he said. "It's a good thing for them, and it's the right thing to do, given the circumstances."
