13-year-old faces city, Seekonk car break-in charges

SEEKONK - A 13-year-old Seekonk boy has been charged in connection with a series of car breaks over the weekend in the town's north end and in Attleboro.

Police are asking anyone who noticed property missing from their vehicles Saturday to call detectives at 508-336-7027 to determine if police recovered the items.

Police recovered keys, wallets, money, compact discs, DVDs, CD changers, iPODs, cameras and a GPS unit, among other things.

Police arrested the suspect about 3:30 a.m. Saturday on Coyle Drive, Capt. Craig Mace said.

Police identified the boy based on witness statements, Mace said.

Mace also said some of the items alleged to have been stolen were found with the boy.

"I doubt that we recovered anything that wasn't taken that night," Mace said.

Police charged the boy with five counts of breaking and entering into a motor vehicle at night, three counts of larceny under $250 and one count each of possession of burglarious tools and receiving stolen property over $250.

Most of the vehicles were unlocked, Mace said.
