Attleboro police probe stabbing

- Police are investigating a reported stabbing on South Main Street early Friday morning.
The victim reported being stabbed by an assailant in the vicinity of 180 South Main St. The man went back to his apartment, then walked to Union and Carpenter streets, where he flagged down a police cruiser about 2:20 a.m., police said.
The man was treated at Sturdy Memorial Hospital for a 2-inch cut in his chest.
He told police the assailant ran toward the Attleboro Crossing shopping plaza off South Main Street.
