Police say probe uncovers drugs
ATTLEBORO - Two men were arrested Thursday as police, dressed in SWAT attire and carrying assault weapons, raided a Dunham Street house, searching for drugs.

Maximo J. Rodriguez, 20, and Jorge Luez Marcano, 23, were arrested when police executed a search warrant at 37 Dunham St., according to police. Both men lived on the second floor of the house. A third person was brought to the police station, but was not expected to be arrested, police said.

According to the police, officers were searching for cocaine and heroin as part of a two-month investigation in which police used confidential informants to buy drugs. During the raid, police seized over 50 grams of heroin, about 13 grams of cocaine and $1,300 in cash.

In addition to the house, police searched and seized two vehicles, one of which was a Buick Century. Both cars had hidden compartments, referred to as "hides," according to police. Police said they found cocaine, heroin and a large amount of cash in these hidden compartments.

Officers could also be seen on the second floor of the house and two state police K-9 units were used in the search, which lasted much of the afternoon. Police could be seen examining medicine bottles outside the building.
The raid was led by the Attleboro Police Department, in conjunction with the Northern Bristol County Drug Task Force and the Attleboro Police Department's Tactical Response Team.

Both men were charged with heroine trafficking (over 28 grams), possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and committing a drug offense within 1,000 feet of a school zone. Both were being held at the Attleboro state pending bail.

Police said they do not expect to make any further arrests. The raid was executed without incident.
