Top Headlines NORFOLK - Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary will team up with The Lloyd Center for the Environment, the Whaling Museum and the Buttonwood Park Zoo for two-week teacher workshop to help the region's teachers become more familiar with scientific concepts and the scientific inquiry process. Teachers will spend a minimum of two days at each site, participating in hands-on activities which they can bring back to their classrooms. This program will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, July 7 through Friday, July 18. Cost is $75. To learn more or to register, call 508-558-2918 or visit lloydcenter.org. Sign up for Norfolk summer recreation programs NORFOLK - Norfolk recreation's summer programs are available for many ages and filling fast. Be sure to check out the new golf programs, robotics, animation, tennis, as well as the classic Fun in the Sun program for 4- to 6-year-olds, Mini-Hawks and more. Call the recreation department at 508-520-1315, visit virtualnorfolk.org under rec or visit the office in the basement of town hall. There are program booklets available outside the recreation office on the lower level of town hall, which is open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. One can use a credit card to register online. Residents and nonresidents welcome. Find out about mosquito spraying Mosquito spraying in Norfolk County, including Foxboro, Plainville, Wrentham, and Norfolk, is beginning and will continue through September. The Norfolk County Mosquito Control Project program is conducted weekdays during the early morning hours of 2 to 6 a.m., weather permitting. The program is the same as in past years. Ground spraying was conducted in April in large wetlands to control mosquito larvae. To find out where spraying is being done, visit www.massnrc.org/ncmcp, or contact your local health board. Map and/or street listings will be posted on or about 3:30 p.m. the day before the scheduled application day.
