Scouts pitch in for school cleanup

Rehoboth Cub Scouts from Den 1 Pack 1 worked more than 10 hours with help from family members in cleaning, raking and pulling weeds in the courtyard at the Palmer River Elementary School. They filled more than 23 bags of leaves and weeds working after school one afternoon a week for three weeks.

The volunteer community work was done as part of the requirements for the World Conservation Award.

The Cub Scouts who participated are Brenton LaBlanca, Noah Gross, Ryan Gois, Benjamin Loell, Robert Peirce, Jonathan Beskid, Nathanial Bell, and David Bauman.

They plan on making the courtyard cleanup a regular service project.

Two of the boys, Jonathan Beskid and Ryan Gois have completed all the requirements for the award and were presented it at the last pack meeting. The group would like to thank all the parents and family members who helped with the project. Check out camp
