If you don't know who Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are, that is understandable. If you were to ask your parents, though, they would probably tell you that Tom and his band were extremely popular during their teenage years.

Still, they are very popular today with parents and teenagers. Many teenagers grew up listening to Petty's music with their parents, and have come to love the music and become fans. The crowd at the concert ranged in age from grandparents and parents to teens.

The show at TD Banknorth was very enjoyable, even all the way up in the "nosebleed section." Steve Winwood, who opened, was brought back on stage to perform with Petty and his band. Golden oldies such as "American Girl," "Refugee," and "Free Fallin'" brought the crowd to their feet. You couldn't even hear the music because the crowd was yelling was so loud.

"With every group of people you saw, there was something happening and the show was just amazing. The band sounded and looked awesome," said Attleboro High School junior Mike Wille.

Saturday night's show was even more exciting than Friday's, and the atmosphere was also superior. Having seats in the lawn, which is a place where most teenagers go to watch the show, was perfect. You could go to any part of the lawn to find friends or just get a better view.

"Both shows were great. Saturday was more preferable because of the people there and the music sounded better because it was outside," said Framingham State College student and 2006 AHS graduate Katie Jeffery.

If the chance comes to see Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, it should totally be taken advantage of, if classic rock is a type of music you enjoy.

This tour started on May 30 in Grand Rapids, Mich. and will end on Aug. 29 in Woodlands, Texas.
