- On his first night on the job, Patrolman Justin Gould helped nab an accused drunken driver with a history of prior arrests.
NORTH ATTLEBORO
Gould, the son of Police Chief Michael Gould Sr., was riding with Capt. Daniel Coyle just after midnight Sunday, when they spotted a car on Route 1 with no headlights, according to police.
The driver, Michael M. Moran, 42, of Walpole, now faces a fifth-offense drunken driving charge and was ordered held Monday in jail without bail pending a dangerousness hearing Wednesday in Attleboro District Court.
He was also charged with driving to endanger, driving with no headlight and possession of marijuana. Police say they noticed a small bag of marijuana coming out of his sock during a field sobriety test.
Assisting in the arrest were officers Kevin Lacasse and Sgt. Fred DeMarco.
If a judge finds Moran is a danger, he could be held in jail without bail for up to 90 days.

He has a good instructor in Capt Coyle. As for nepotism, you're kidding right? He had to pass the same civil service exam as everyone else and that just qualifies you to get hired. You still have to go through the physical and academic training that gets tougher every year.
I have no problem hiring a local if he's as qualified as the other candidates.
Oh - and to Radar57 - the town is North Attleborough. "
