Two Attleboro men charged with radiator theft

ATTLEBORO - Two South Attleboro men were arraigned Monday on charges they stole metal radiators from a scrapyard over the weekend.

Raymond J. Curti, 44, of 1364 Newport Ave., and Lewis B. Baker, 42, of 30 Lord St., second floor, were released without bail after pleading innocent in Attleboro District Court.

The suspects were arrested Saturday morning after employees of State Line Scrap at 136 Bacon St. in South Attleboro, reported a break-in around 6 a.m.

Curti was arrested at the scene and Baker was arrested at his apartment, where police allegedly found some of the radiators. Other radiators were left lined up near a chain-link fence, according to police.

They were arrested by officers Christopher Ulbrich and Brian Kelley. The suspects face charges of breaking and entering, larceny, trespassing and walking on railroad tracks.

Curti is due back in court Oct. 8. Baker, who has an unrelated case pending, is due back on Sept. 9.

Judge David Turcotte warned Baker to not get arrested again.

"If you get picked up again, bring your toothbrush because you are going to go to the can," Turcotte warned.
