RAYNHAM - A Norton teenager was among a dozen people arrested by members of the Northern Bristol County Drug Task Force in a warrant sweep in Raynham and Taunton following a six-month investigation.
Anthony Enos, 18, of 233 Mansfield Ave., in Norton, was charged with seven counts of distribution of crack cocaine and cocaine, Raynham police said Friday.
The drug sweep was conducted as part of Operation Blizzard, an ongoing effort to stamp out area drug activity and more arrests are expected.
Raynham Police Chief Louis Pacheco said Raynham was the lead agency in the operation, but the arrests are a continuation of 16 arrests made several weeks ago in a similar warrant sweep in the Attleboro area.
Members of the task force, including Attleboro, Norton and Mansfield police, have been cooperating and exchanging information over the past year or so to crack down on illegal prescription drug abuse, cocaine and crack.
Other arrests included residents in Raynham, Taunton, Berkley, East Bridgewater, and West Bridgewater.
Pacheco said investigators worked closely with the Bristol County District Attorney's office.
The arrests were made possible with funds acquired from NESPIN or the New England State Police Information Network. Many of the arrests were as a result of "hand-to-hand" buys to undercover police officers, Pacheco said.
