| Article: | GUEST COLUMN: State sewer subsidy shrinking A significant area of concern for cities and towns in my district is the underfunding of the Commonwealth Sewer Rate Relief Fund, which is used to offset annual rate increases from the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority. While this issue will receive very little attention in the media, it is nonetheless an issue that effects all of our wallets, as sewer rates are expected to increase dramatically over the next several years. As troubling as this is, I have fought each year to prevent deeper cuts in assistance and ensure additional funding to offset increases in water and sewer rates. |
