Another Norton happening - former Lancer football star Jon Norcott, entering his second season of football at Dean College in Franklin, captured the RAW National Powerlifting Meet in St. Louis with a 1,420-pound weight total. Under rules of competition, with minimal equipment, Norcott was tops in the 18-19 division and the 198-220 pound class, having a squat of 518 points, a deadlift of 600 pounds and a bench press of 302 (he fouled at 353 pounds). "Now I'm looking forward to this being my breakout year in football," said Norcott, who was a reserve running back and special-teams member last fall ...
