North Attleboro - Bette Urban of North Attleboro announces the engagement of her daughter, Stephanie Urban, to Mark McGehearty, son of Mr. and Mrs. John McGehearty of Providence. Ms. Urban is also the daughter of the late Joseph Urban.

A wedding is planned for October 4, 2008 in Providence.

Ms. Urban earned a master's degree in social work from Smith College. She is a student assistance counselor in Cumberland, R.I.

Mr. McGehearty earned a master's degree from Boston College. He is employed by the State of Rhode Island.
