Reading - Ann and Tony Perella of Reading announce the engagement of their daughter, Catherine Perella, to John Mangiaratti, son of Diane and Bob Mangiaratti of Attleboro.

A wedding is planned for August 23, 2008 at St. Joseph's Church in Medford.

Ms. Perella is a 1998 graduate of Reading Memorial High School. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Boston University in 2002, and a master's degree in education from Salem State College in 2005.

She is a special education teacher at Galvin Middle School in Wakefield.

Mr. Mangiaratti graduated from Attleboro High School in 1998. He earned a bachelor's degree in geography from Clark University in 2002. He is currently enrolled in a graduate program at the University of Massachusetts, Boston for a degree in public affairs. He is employed as the GIS coordinator for the Town of Westford.
