No charges in fatal accident

FOXBORO - No charges are coming in the June 28 single-car crash that killed 18-year-old Jacklyn Thomas.

"Based on reports regarding the crash from all public safety agencies involved, there will be no prosecution related to this tragedy," said Kevin Bowe, a spokesman for Norfolk County District Attorney William Keating.

Bowe declined to comment about the cause of the crash.

Keating's office and Foxboro police have been investigating the crash.

Thomas was killed less than two weeks after graduating from Foxboro High School when the car she was driving veered from a straight stretch of Cocasset Street and cut across part of a yard at 175 Cocasset.

The car took down a fence and a small tree before striking a large, forked hardwood tree around 12:40 a.m.

Thomas, the stepdaughter of a Foxboro firefighter/paramedic, was pronounced dead that morning at Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood.

Authorities have interviewed Brendan Civian, 22, a passenger injured in the crash.
