NORTH ATTLEBORO - Seniors: Need some help with minor home repairs? If you do, the North Attleboro Council on Aging passes along that there are still funds available in the Minor Home Repair Program.
The program, offered through the COA, offers what it states are reasonably priced, quality minor home repairs on a sliding fee scale for senior homeowners. The program is funded, in part, by a grant from Bristol Elder Services, Inc. through contracts with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs.
Eligible repairs include fixing railings, screens, stairs, minor plumbing problems, minor electrical or minor masonry problems, small carpentry repairs, or any repairs that may be a safety issue in the home. The senior homeowner is responsible for purchasing the material to make the repair and the program will cover the cost of the labor as well as provide the contractor for the repair.
All of the projects must be completed by Sept. 30. For more information, contact Julia Wheatley, COA outreach worker at 508-699-0131 Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
