Pet of the Week: Oakley

"I haven't quite figured out just why I am still at the shelter and homeless. Maybe, it's because all those springtime kittens throw themselves at whoever comes through the door. It's like a whole bunch of kids yelling 'pick me, pick me.' They even climb on top of me to get to the people. No respect from those youngsters! I just sit back, allow them to climb on me ( try to push one off when no one is looking), and act calm and cool while they meow nonstop. I'm trying to show everyone just how great I am. I came into the shelter skin and bones and the fur I had was a giant matt. (It was shaved off in one piece, ugh.) Now, my coat is almost all grown in, soft and shiny, and I have put a lot of weight on. My stress level from living outdoors, on my own (and not very good at it) had taken a toll on me. I figure I have some of my nine lives left though, and I really want them spent in a home where everyone loves me. I'm good with other cats, dogs, and yes, even house bunnies. I'm neat and clean, and keep my coat well groomed. I even like to be brushed. I'm pretty laid back, with a burst of energy once in awhile. I get along good with everyone I meet and I adjust fast. How about giving me a chance? I'm neutered, leuk & fiv negative, vaccinated, chipped, and only about 2-3 years old."
