NORTON - For Red Sox fans, there will be Dennis Eckersley, Dwight Evans, Carlton Fisk, Jim Lonborg, Rick Miller, Bob Montgomery, Rico Petrocelli, Fred Lynn, Frank Malzone, Jim Rice, Luis Tiant and Sam Horn.

Bruins fans may want to follow current players Phil Kessel, Marc Savard, Dennis Wideman and Shawn Thornton, former players Bob Sweeney and Andy Brickley or current Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli.

And celebrity watchers may be interested in Donald Trump, musicians Edwin McCain and the Dropkick Murphys' Ken Casey or local sports TV personalities Sean McDonough, Hazel Mae and Tom Caron.

All will be teeing it up next week in two pro-ams that will serve as the preliminary to the sixth annual Deutsche Bank Championship, the $7 million PGA Tour event to be played Aug. 29-Sept. 1 at the TPC Boston in Norton.

Tournament week action officially kicks off with the Red Sox Legends & Friends Pro-Am on Tuesday. That's when former Red Sox players, Bruin players and alumni and TV personalities will participate. All players will tee off at 8 a.m.
Thursday's official tournament pro-am will pair a professional player with four amateurs, such as Trump or another personality. Tee times are scheduled for 7-9 a.m. and noon-2 p.m. off the first and 10th tees.

Wednesday will feature professional practice rounds and a kids' exhibition with members of the Pinnacle Distance Team. The kids' exhibition will feature an appearance by Anthony Netto from Kid Swing International and will take place at 2 p.m.

"We're excited about the events leading up to competitive play," Deutsche Bank Championship Director Eric Baldwin said. "While the championship is obviously the main focus, we've got some fun and exciting activities throughout the week that should keep fans entertained before play starts Friday."

Leading PGA Tour players, including Phil Mickelson, Padraig Harrington and Sergio Garcia, are expected to compete in the 2008 Deutsche Bank Championship, which will take place Friday through Monday at the PGA Tour-owned course off Route 140. It is the second of four stops in the FedEx Cup, the PGA Tour playoffs.

Limited tickets are still available by visiting www.dbchampionship.com or by calling 1-877-TIX-4DBC. Tickets are $25 a day for Tuesday-Thursday and $55 a day for Friday-Monday, when Baldwin says sellouts are expected.
