Top Headlines RBI Baseball Academy in Foxboro: is preparing for their 11th year running Fall Baseball Leagues. Programs are available to players ages 5-18 including a High School Wood Bat League for grades 9-12. RBI will also be offering the Next Level Baseball Strength & Conditioning, which is a baseball-specific program run in coordination with Velocity Sports Performance designed to increase the player's strength, agility, and speed. RBI's 2008 Fall Baseball programs start on Saturday, Sept. 6 and includes: Head Start Program (Ages 5-6); Little League Minor Division (Ages 7-9); Little League Major Division (Ages 10-12); Transition Program (Babe Ruth Age 13); Babe Ruth League (Babe Ruth Ages 14 High School Wood Bat League (Grades 9-12); and Next Level Strength & Conditioning Program (Grades 7-12). BASKETBALL Boston Warriors AAU Boys Basketball Club tryouts will take place Aug. 31 and Sept 7 at Waltham High School. SOFTBALL The New England Phoenix: fastpitch softball organization will hold tryouts for its travel teams on Aug. 25, 29 and 31. Strike Zone Shock: U16 and U18 fastpitch softball teams are looking for players for the 2008-2009 season. The Shock is a highly competitive travel team that competes in several tournaments throughout the greater New England area. The U18 team also plays throughout the Northeast, including college showcase tournaments and national tournaments. The U16 team's goal is to compete in the best ASA and Pony tournaments while creating fundamentally sound athletes that understand the skills that are necessary to compete at the college level. The U18 team's goal is to compete in the best showcase tournaments, against the best competition possible, providing our players the opportunity to showcase their skills to a wide range of college coaches. Players that are U16 eligible are welcome to attend as well as highly competitive second year U14 players. For the U18 team, only players in graduating classes of 2009-12 are eligible to attend. Open tryouts will be held, Saturday, Sept. 6 at 1:30 p.m. Private tryouts by appointment only Tuesday, Aug. 26 and Thursday, Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. at Attleboro High School.
