Horseshoe champions crowned

ATTLEBORO - The team of Bob Blais and Jeff Kingsley were crowned 2008 champions in the Attleboro Recreation Department's annual Doubles Horseshoe Tournament held at the pits at the South Attleboro Veterans Memorial Playground on Wednesday.
Blais also won the singles championship earlier this year.
Blais and Kingsley were undefeated as they marched through the winners' bracket to face Wayne Vaslet and Tim Pinkham in the finals.
In the semifinals, Blais and Kingsley defeated the team of Bill Morse and Pete Malewicz while Vaslet and Pinkham knocked off the team of Steve Towner and Drew Briggs.
Other teams that made the final eight were: Larry Kiff and Mike Boily, George Alamo and Mike Craven, Steve Stack and Fred Lebeau and Al Martin and Ed Beaulier.
