Donation sought for tasting event

NORTON - Epoch Assisted Living of Norton, 190 Mansfield Ave., is seeking donations for The Taste of Tri-town, to be held at Epoch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6.

Area restaurants and food purveyors are still needed to share samples of their popular dishes.

The event will include food tables where patrons can sample dishes from local restaurants and caterers and a raffle run by the Norton Institute of Continuing Education. Proceeds will benefit the Cupboard of Kindness and Norton's Council on Aging.

Donations for the raffle are also needed. Items needed include gift certificates and gift baskets of assorted items. Donations can be dropped off at 190 Mansfield Ave. before Friday, Sept. 5. For more information, call Tiffany Michalski at 508-285-3355. Norton Y starts fall session soon

NORTON - The Attleboro/Norton YMCA's Fall I session starts the week of Sept. 7.

Offerings include Totally Toddlers and Learn N' Play, gymnastics classes for a variety of ages, Community School classes for adults, tennis, and a babysitting course.

Legion pig roast will be Sept. 20


NORTON - American Legion Post 222 will hold a pig roast at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20.

The meal will consist of barbecue pork shoulders, with four sides to choose from, and dinner rolls at a cost of $13 per person.

For children, a steamed hot dog, a bag of chips and a can of soda are available for $3. Newly renovated horseshoe pits and an outdoor patio will be available for use.

Flea market at library Sept. 20


NORTON - The Friends of the Library will hold a flea market on the Norton Public Library lawn from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 20.

Space is available for $20 and must be reserved by Sept. 15 with the president of the Friends, Joanne Porter, at 508-285-6241 or porter30@verizon.net.

In case of inclement weather, the flea market will be held on the following Saturday, Sept. 27.



Play bridge at Epoch on Mondays

NORTON - Epoch Assisted Living of Norton's Bridge Club meets every Monday at 6 p.m. at 190 Mansfield Ave.

The club is free and open to players of all abilities. Come to improve your game with helpful tips from instructor John Baringer, or to meet new players.
