NORTON - Freshman striker Megan Elliott made an impressive debut up top for the Norton High School girls' soccer team, scoring twice within a six-minute span midway through the second half to guide the Lancers to a 2-0 victory over Ashland in a Tri-Valley League match Tuesday.

Elliott scored the match-winner in the 53rd minute and then tallied again 19 minutes into the second half. Nicolette Schuko assisted on one goal.

Senior goalie Casey Remick turned back a dozen shots to secure the shutout, being ably aided defensively by sweeper Jillian Wry and midfielder Brianna Vileri.

The Lancers travel to Millis Friday.
