NORTH ATTLEBORO - Taking its cue from a crew of underclassmen, the North Attleboro High girls' volleyball team dealt arch-rival Attleboro High a 3-0 defeat Wednesday in the season opener for both squads, the Rocketeers prevailing 25-15, 25-12 and 25-20.

"We played a little tight at first, then we did very well," said North coach Lorraine Weymouth. One of those Rocketeer newcomers is her daughter Kelsey, a freshman. The younger Weymouth amassed 10 assists in the match overall, while serving the final five points of the first game.

In the second game, sophomore Katie Boisseau shined by scoring eight straight service points to create a 20-7 lead for North. Boisseau accounted for 13 service points and six kills overall.

And in the third game, North junior Tori Morris (nine service points, two kills overall) broke open a tight game with four straight service points.

North begins its Hockomock League season Monday at Mansfield, while coach Brian Warburton and the Bombardiers make their home debut Friday against Somerset.
