NORTON - Sophomore Matt DeGiorgio carded a single-season "home course" record round of 2-under-par 34 at the Norton Country Club Thursday as the unbeaten Mansfield High golf team scored a 152-194 victory over Canton in a Hockomock League match.

DeGiorgio had three birdies on his scorecard, at the par-4 No. 3 and No. 8 holes and at the par-3 No. 7 hole. Tom Grant came in with a 1-over-par 37 for the Hornets (3-0), playing their third match in three days.

- Senior Mike Fay carded a 3-over-par round of 39 at the Foxborough CC as FOXBORO (2-1) gained a 169-189 victory over Sharon in a Hockomock League match.

- Senior captain Greg Reddington carded a 3-over-par round of 39 at the Easton CC as NORTH ATTLEBORO opened its season with a 170-178 victory over Stoughton in a Hockomock League match. Reddington birdied the par-4 No. 3 hole for the Rocketeers.

- At the Hopedale CC, BISHOP FEEHAN's Owen Lynch and Tim Rogers won their matches in the first flight as the Shamrocks won their season opener 91/2-21/2 over Hopedale. - At the Wentworth Hills CC, KING PHILIP (1-1) scored a 172-182 victory over Franklin. Pat Jeffrey produced a medalist round of 6-over par 42 for the Warriors (1-1), who next visit Sharon Monday.

- In a season-opener at At the Glenallen CC, NORTON almost made it a clean sweep with an 11-1 victory over host Millis. Peter Danko, Aaron Ledwich and Mike Adler all shot a 6-over par 42 for the Lancers.
