RI man accused of taking DVDs from NA store

ATTLEBORO - A 33-year-old man who allegedly boosted a shelf of DVDs from the Best Buy store in North Attleboro has pleaded innocent to related charges.

Camacho Fayerweather, of Providence, was apprehended by North Attleboro police Sgt. Joseph DiRenzo after a brief foot chase Wednesday afternoon into the woods between Wal-Mart and Lowe's home improvement store on Route 1, police said.

Best Buy security guards recovered a plastic "booster bag" filled with $680 worth of DVDs allegedly stolen from a shelf in the store.

A "booster bag" is lined with tape to elude detection by electronic security equipment. An accomplice eluded store security and police.

The incident was reported around 1:40 p.m. Wednesday.

Fayerweather pleaded innocent Thursday in Attleboro District Court to larceny of more than $250, disturbing the peace, being disorderly and resisting arrest, according to court records.

He was expected to post the $2,500 bail set for his release. He is due back in court Dec. 9.
