Norfolk looks to fill financial positions that are now vacant
Top Headlines Robert "Robbie" Alford, who had been chief assessor since March 2005 when he replaced longtime assessor Debbie Robbins after she took a similar position in Westwood, has been appointed assessor in Easton. Alford, of Swansea, had previously worked for about five years as an assistant assessor in Holliston. The position of chief assessor, which works under the board of assessors and finance director and handles property tax assessments, is being advertised with a salary of $48,000 to $51,000. Also, Jane Wall, who had been finance director since March 2006, has left for another job. Wall, of Sandwich, is a Certified Public Accountant who worked as a town accountant in Eastham for nearly two years and in schools in the private sector before coming to Norfolk. No salary is advertised for that position. Town Administrator Jack Hathaway, who was finance director before becoming town administrator, is filling the director's duties. The town is also looking to fill a new, part-time position for human resource director. The pay is about $25 an hour. The deadline to apply for all three jobs is Sept. 26.
