(Staff photo by Tom Maguire) GOLF: Nixon helps Warriors to KO Knights EASTON - Senior Brian Nixon hasn't been in the medalist position very often through his four seasons with the Foxboro High golf team, but his card was the difference Wednesday as the Warriors nipped Stoughton 168-171 in a Hockomock League match at the Easton CC. Nixon came through with a 3-over-par medalist round of 39, one that included a pair of birdies to enable Foxboro to take the win. The Warriors (7-2, 6-2 league) meet Oliver Ames Monday. At the Highland CC, ATTLEBORO (4-3) routed Taunton 258-293 in an Old Colony League match. Brandon Nolan carded a 3-over-par medalist round of 38 for AHS, including a birdie on the No. 8 hole. The Bombardiers take on North Attleboro today at the Locust Valley Golf Course. At Locust Valley, NORTH ATTLEBORO (3-6) suffered a 152-157 loss to Oliver Ames in a Hockomock League match. Rocketeer Ryan Doherty shot a medalist round of 1-over-par 36 with a birdie on the par-5 No. 2 hole. The Rocketeers (3-6) host Attleboro High today. At the Millwood CC in Framingham, NORTON (6-5) suffered a 233-244 loss to Ashland in a Tri-Valley League match. Freshman Liz Laverghetta and Peter Danko shared medalist honors for the Lancers with rounds of 39. Norton hosts Millis today at the TPC-Norton.
