Wrong-way driver on I-95 charged with drunken driving

ATTLEBORO - An alleged drunken driver traveling the wrong way in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 collided with another car early this morning just north of the Rhode Island border.
Sean C. O'Donnell, 31 of Providence, was arrested after the 1:25 a.m. accident on I-95 in the area of Route 1, according to state police.
O'Donnell was driving a 2003 Volvo north in the southbound lanes of I-95 when he collided with a 1988 Toyota driven by Jeremy Montijo, 19, of Central Falls, R.I., according to a state police spokesman.
Both men escaped serious injury, police said.
O'Donnell was charges with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving to endanger, driving with a suspended license, speeding and driving the wrong way, according to state police.
He was scheduled to be arraigned today in Attleboro District Court.
Rhode Island and Massachusetts state police and Attleboro police responded to the accident scene. |
