McGovern backs Bowles in race for city rep seat

ATTLEBORO - U.S. Rep. James McGovern has endorsed Bill Bowles in the race for state representative in Attleboro.
"I am very pleased to endorse Bill Bowles for state representative," McGovern, D-Worcester, said.
"I've known Bill for many years, and I admire his long-standing commitment to the people of Attleboro.
"I'm proud to call him my friend. During these difficult economic times, Bill's experience as finance chair on the council will help lead Attleboro and the commonwealth into a better future."
Bowles, a Democrat, is running against Republican George Ross for the seat being vacated by state Rep. John Lepper, R-Attleboro.

The Massachusedtts legislature does not need yet another liberal. It needs someone with balance and mature, not reactionary, perspective, like John Lepper had. That person is George Ross. "
