McGovern backs Bowles in race for city rep seat

Top Headlines "I am very pleased to endorse Bill Bowles for state representative," McGovern, D-Worcester, said. "I've known Bill for many years, and I admire his long-standing commitment to the people of Attleboro. "I'm proud to call him my friend. During these difficult economic times, Bill's experience as finance chair on the council will help lead Attleboro and the commonwealth into a better future." Bowles, a Democrat, is running against Republican George Ross for the seat being vacated by state Rep. John Lepper, R-Attleboro.

McGovern, one of the more liberal members of our Congressional delegation, is enough reason for me to choose George Ross. The Massachusedtts legislature does not need yet another liberal. It needs someone with balance and mature, not reactionary, perspective, like John Lepper had. That person is George Ross. " or
