Man stabbed in 'home invasion'

ATTLEBORO
- Three local men were charged with stabbing a city resident early this morning in an incident police are calling a "home invasion."

Police were called to 161 County St. shortly after midnight for a reported stabbing and found Nicholas Santaniello, 20, suffering from a single stab wound to his torso.

He was taken by an Attleboro Fire Department ambulance to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence where he was reported in stable condition, according to police. Police also said his injuries were not considered life-threatening. Occupants of the home said three men forced their way inside and confronted the occupants when the stabbing took place. The suspects reportedly fled in a white vehicle.

Police arrested three men, Richard Nye, 20, of 27 Emory Street, Damon Newton, 21, of 33 Pleasant Street and Ryan Urquhart, 20, also of 33 Pleasant Street.

All three men are being held on assault with attempt to murder, home invasion, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and breaking and entering in the night time, a felony.

Each of the three is being held on $50,000 cash bail.

The Sun Chronicle will have more details on this story as they become available on this Web site and in Sunday's newspaper.
